How Long Do Perfumes Last? | Scent Haus Fragrance Guide
At Scent Haus, all of our fragrances are crafted at 20% Eau de Parfum (EDP) concentration — designed to deliver a premium scent experience.
However, not all perfumes last the same amount of time.
Understanding fragrance longevity will help you choose the right scent for your style, routine, and occasion.
Why Do Some Fragrances Last Longer Than Others?
Many people assume that a higher oil concentration means a longer-lasting perfume. While this helps, the real factor is the fragrance composition.
Perfumes are made up of different layers:
-
Top notes (fresh, citrus, light) — fade quickly
-
Heart notes (floral, fruity, aromatic) — medium longevity
-
Base notes (oud, amber, woods, vanilla) — long-lasting
Fragrances with stronger base notes will naturally last longer on the skin.
How Long Do Scent Haus Fragrances Last?
To make things simple, our collection is designed across three fragrance types:
Fresh & Light Fragrances (2–5 Hours)
Clean, uplifting and easy to wear, these scents are perfect for everyday freshness.
They are typically built with citrus, marine, and soft floral notes — which naturally evaporate faster.
Examples include:
Aqua Mist, Sunset Muse, Blush Meadow, Adore Amour, Citrus Noir
Best for:
Daytime wear, holidays, gym, and casual settings
Everyday Signature Scents (4–7 Hours)
Balanced fragrances that combine freshness with depth, making them versatile for daily use.
Examples include:
Bergamot Ember, Terra Noir, Cedar Blaze, Ocean Noir, Victory Tide, Parisian Whisper, Fleur de Boom
Best for:
Work, social occasions, and all-day wear
Long-Lasting Fragrances (6–10+ Hours)
Richer, deeper scents built with oud, amber, woods, and sweet notes that stay on the skin for hours.
Examples include:
Ombre Oud, Cardamom Oud, Cherry Blaze, Rose Ember, Cinderwood, Saffron Luxe, Velvet Glow
Best for:
Evenings, events, and making a lasting impression
Why Can’t I Smell My Perfume After a While?
It’s completely normal to stop noticing your fragrance after a few hours.
This is due to olfactory adaptation — your nose becomes used to the scent, even though others can still smell it.
How to Make Your Perfume Last Longer
To improve fragrance longevity, try the following:
-
Apply to pulse points (neck, wrists, behind ears)
-
Spray lightly onto clothing
-
Apply to moisturised skin for better absorption
-
Avoid rubbing wrists together after application
-
Reapply throughout the day for lighter fragrances
Choosing the Right Fragrance for You
If you prefer a light, clean scent, fresh fragrances are ideal for daily wear.
If you want a stronger, longer-lasting fragrance, choose scents with oud, amber, vanilla, or woody notes.
